Life Link SBT Contributes to win Award for water conservation

ISKCON’s Govardhan Eco Village (GEV) was awarded the SKOCH Platinum Award 2013 for the Water Conservation, which included rainwater harvesting and use of Soil Biotechnology based STP, set up by Life Link Eco Technologies Pvt. Ltd., for treatment and reuse of sewage. The award was received from the former Finance Minister of India Mr. P Chidambaram, Mr. Montek Singh Alhuwalia Chairman Planning Commission of India, Mr. U K Sinha Chairman Securities Exchange Board of India and Mr. Sameer Kochhar Chairman Skoch Foundation by Mr. Gauranga Das Director Govardhan Eco Village.

GEV has been set up under the inspiring leadership of H H Radhanath Swami, who is is a motivational speaker, author of the international best seller The Journey Home, a book which has been translated in over 20 languages has become one of the most talked-about names when it comes to inspiration.

Located 100 km from Mumbai, GEV showcases various solutions to protect our environment, ranging from use of alternative energy sources like solar power, biogas, bull power to rain water harvesting to waste water recycling and reuse to green buildings.

Life Link had set up the SBT plant in 2012 and has also been undertaking the operation and maintenance of the system since then. This SBT system treats 30 KLD of the sewage generated within the campus. The high quality treated water is reused for organic agriculture and irrigation of landscaped spaces within the campus.
